Jeff Randolph
Bitter Jester Music Festival Judge
Jeff Randolph has had a passion for music and broadcasting since he was young. His first job after college was as a freelance engineer for NPR in Chicago. After getting married and starting a family, he returned to school to pursue a career in broadcasting.
He spent seven years working for Alpha Media, where he produced remote broadcasts and commercials, as well as created content for various social media platforms. Jeff loves the opportunity to get in front of the microphone to engage with an audience.
He is currently part of The Country Blend on the Thasis Radio Network, where he hosts two features: "Roots and Rhythm" and "The Bluegrass Brunch."
"Roots and Rhythm" highlights artists of color in country music and related genres, including Americana, folk, and bluegrass.
"The Bluegrass Brunch" explores the entire spectrum of bluegrass, from traditional to progressive styles and jamgrass, covering all aspects in between.
Additionally, Jeff is the co-host of the food podcast Fresh and Uncooked, where he and his co-host, Chris, discuss everything related to food, from the best pizza toppings to the latest offerings at popular fast-food establishments.
Jeff previously worked in the marketing department for Visit Lake County, the marketing tourism organization in Lake County, Illinois. Visit Lake County is responsible for such things as The Lake County Libation Trail and Lake County Restaurant Week and it’s originally how Jeff got connected to Bitter Jester.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, trying new cuisines, visiting farmers' markets, and taking long walks.
