Highland Park Chamber of Commerce supports the bitter jester music festival

Check out what Highland Park, Illinois, Chamber of Commerce has to say about the Bitter Jester Music Fest!

Dear Sirs and Madams,

Vibrancy. Awareness. Community Engagement.

A vibrant community pulsates with life, vigor, activity. It is what draws awareness to a community, making people want to come here, play here, shop or dine here, move here. It is what draws others - individuals or businesses - to join in, be a partof a collaborative effort, engage in that very activity to build something great for community.

The Bitter Jester Foundation for the Arts is doing exactly that to bring vibrancy to our community, to bring awareness to our community, and to build community engagement. For 15 years, theBitter Jester Music Festival, a series of concerts and competition, has drawn people to Highland Park for a shared experience. The Music Festival's reach continues to grow, now attracting attendees from five states. These musicians bring their extended support network of family, friends, and fans - more foot traffic - more people that experience Highland Park.

Additionally, there are businesses that have come onboard each year to be a part of this and help it grow. Businesses such as Ravinia Brewing, Judy's Pizza, Sweet Home Gelato, as well as the Highland Park library, understand that through their participation they are building community. Dozens of other businesses have donated gift cards for prizes, promoted the events on their social media, and offered additional support. Why? Because they believe in the same concept on which the Chamber of Commerce is built: We Are Stronger Together.

As a champion for our community, the Chamber also knows well that a tremendous amount of work goes into planning, producing, and promoting initiatives that draw people to our town. Time and effort and energy spent doing good and greatthings on behalf of the community are not free. Nor do they 'just happen' because someone has a great idea. Building awareness of an event like this through increased promotion and resources will allow it to grow and succeed.

The Bitter Jester Music Fest is an economic driver for Highland Park. Its growth and success mean growth and successfor everyone. Investing local to expand and better promote this Music Festival has a return on investment that benefits notjust our retail and other businesses but the entire community. An investment in the Bitter Jester Music Festival is an investment from which we all reap the rewards.

Sincerely, Ginny Glasner, President & CEO
